Course Description: Utilizing props in your acts can be a powerful and fun storytelling feature. However, there are few things worse than seeing a prop introduced on stage and not seeing it utilized to its fullest potential. What is too much? What is not enough? 

In this course we will take a commonly used prop - a chair and use it in a choreographed routine that is centered around its primary function: sitting in it! Sounds so simple! Practice the art of being still to draw your audience in and drive them wild, while allowing the chair to go beyond a simple prop and serve as your dance partner to help tell the story!


Course Materials

Please bring the following materials with you to your live class session:

  • A chair (preferably not a folding chair)

  • A button-down shirt

  • Heels (optional)

  • Note-taking supplies

About the Instructor

Samson Night

Samson Night is a cross genre artist with over 25 years of professional experience in the businesses of TV/ Film, Broadway, Voice Over, Commercials and Print. Currently starring on Broadway and at Carnegie Hall, he is also a theater educator and will utilize techniques learned and used from those experiences to guide you through these courses.  

 #20 on The Burlesque Top 50, Samson has been featured as the closer for the opening night of the New York Burlesque Festival, reigning title holder of "Queen Of The Roses"  at the Oregon Burlesque Festival, "Best Group" with his partner Margo Mayhem at Arizona Burlesque Festival, will be the Featured Newcomer at Jeezy's Juke Joint in Chicago and Headlining What The Funk Festival 2021.

 He will also be competing for the title of Mr. Exotic World at BHoF next year and is 1/3 of the producing team: Bawdy Suit with Faggedy Randy and P.NoNoire.
