American Treasure Blanche DeBris has been entertaining herself and occasionally others for more years than she can reliably count. She made her burlesque debut in 2008 at Seattle’s Moisture Festival, and since 2012 has been an emcee at the prestigious Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend.
Blanche has also been honored to emcee Burlesque Festivals and events across the USA and Canada, including the Smoky Mountain Burlesque Festival (Knoxville, TN), Savannah, Minneapolis, the Southwest Burlesque Showcase (Albuquerque), Freezing Tassel (Anchorage, AK), Chicago, Vermont, New Orleans, Las Vegas, Florida Burlesque Festival, Vancouver (Canada), and Calgary (Canada), among others.
As a teacher, she has mentored new and veteran burlesque performers in connecting to their burlesque persona, polish and clarify their acts, and how to hone emcee skills in her “Master That Ceremony” workshop. As an invited presenter at BurlyCon in 2018, she also gave her talk on “Kindness as A Revolutionary Act.”
In her non-burlesque life, Blanche is a singer and actor, beginning her studies at the High School of Performing Arts, and earning her B.S. in Educational Theatre at NYU. She has also studied with the Riverside Shakespeare Company (NY), Raconteur Theatre (London), and Cockroach Theatre (Las Vegas), among others. She’s worked in New York, on the Las Vegas Strip, in London, and on national tours. She was recently called the “Secret Sauce” of the Las Vegas downtown theatre scene, and continues to take classes and participate in workshops for new Broadway-bound musicals.
She is also a Tupperware Consultant, bringing her sparkly effervescence to your food prep and storage needs! Most of all, Blanche strives to brighten and inspire the burlesque world with her boundless joy, enthusiasm, optimism, and bewilderment. Miss DeBris lives in Las Vegas.
