"Romance the floor- Let's use the hips and make love to the floor" with Mercy Arias
Basic principles to create a seamless floorwork
Course Experience Level: All
Course Description: Romance the floor is a class where we are going to explore the use of the hips and connection to the senses to create seamless and hypnotic floorwork. Is the perfect mixture between movement technique, anatomic concepts and learning a choreographic sequence where we can put all the sassy and sensuality across the floor. The class consists of body conditioning, lateral movement drills, floor sequence and final stretch (all based in Liquid Motion technique). Is perfect for beginners but also for advanced- the basics never get old ;)-. It is also interesting if you are looking for new ideas for your burlesque act. This class is about making the floorwork accessible to real people (not just amazingly flexible and strong) giving you elements to appropriate the movements and not just "rolling around the floor". We are going to be as sensual like honey melting in the floor! I guarantee you will love your floor after this class. Welcome to this romance.

I am Mercy. I was born in the mountains and grew up close to the tropical ocean. I am 36 years old, started my dance journey at the age of 27 and fell in love with Burlesque in 2016. I used to be an economist but I gave up all the corporate world and surrender to glitter and stilettos. Actually I am a professional dancer from UNA-Argentina, with certifications in physical training, DNS Technique, Liquid Motion, Floor Flow, Active Overall Stretching-SGA, among others. I won different contest of pole dance and Burlesque in Argentina, Colombia, Brasil and Chile, where also I offered masterclass and workshops. When I started my dance journey my brain could do all the fancy tricks of a dancer, but it turns out my body really didn't want to, so I began to focus my attention on low flow movements and finding organic and seamless transitions to dance, so my movement teaching and investigation is about giving healthy tools to the people to felt in love with their personal style of dance.
